FacilitiesThere is plenty of off-road concrete parking for cars and mini-coaches. We can accommodate larger coaches with prior arrangement.
The farmyard and paddocks are securely fenced and gated. Visitors can easily see and get close to the animals from various locations. The main animal buildings are large with concrete walkways and open areas, and plenty of undercover space for wet weather activities. All animal pens are large with secure hurdles which allow visitors to easily see, hear and get as close to the animals as they feel they would like to. Group visits are always guided by one of our staff to ensure the best possible safety of people and animals. Access to all visitor areas is generally excellent for walking and wheelchairs. However, there are two access pathways which will be made all weather during the spring of 2010. Disabled toilet facilities are available. We have a central meeting/ training room, which has white boards, flip chart and other presentation facilities. We often use this room to bring small or baby animals to for talks, demonstrations and therapy sessions. We have a separate area set aside for eating and relaxation. Our large 60’ x 24’ poly-tunnel is sited in about 1 acre, which is designated for vegetables, herbs and flowers. A 50’ x 50’ area has been set aside for the development of a sensory garden, by way of small projects. The land is surrounded by hedges and many large trees of all sorts, and a stream runs down one boundary. Castlemorton Common is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is all around us. The area is full of wildlife and the beautiful sounds of the country-side including lots of wild birds and animals. |
